The Highlanders sent a large contingent to the Glendive Invitational on Saturday and a smaller group to the Havre Middle School Invitational that same day. Again, our Highlanders came away with impressive results!
In Glendive, there were 13 Clubs in attendance. The Highlanders had the 2nd most wrestlers registered with 47. At the end of the day, an incredible TWENTY FOUR Highlanders were crowned CHAMPIONS and 41 Top-3 individual place winners were honored.
In Havre, we competed as a club team against the other programs that are in the meat of their regular Middle School season’s. With only 11 kids entered in the meet, the Highlanders walked away with 5th place out of 14 schools on the backs of four Individual CHAMPIONS and nine Top 3 finishers.
With less that a month of season left and only 4 competition weekends remaining, the Highlanders are really riding high at the moment! We expect BIG things in March. Our young kids will be at the Plentywood Invitational this coming Saturday while many of our 5th thru 8th graders will be at Middle School State in Lewistown.

Wow. What a weekend it was for GWC!! Our Highlanders came out swinging and didn’t let up. The Coaches cannot be more proud of where we are at this point in the season. Hard work and dedication is proving to be a recipe for success for this impressive group of kids.
The Highlanders put a tournament-high 60 kiddos into the “Civic Center Slam” this Saturday on our home mats. It was an event we co-hosted with the Wolf Point Wrestling Club and it did NOT disappoint. We crowned 15 individual CHAMPIONS and Thirty Six Top 3 place winners at the “Slam”.
Some of our Middle School Grapplers (5th thru 8th Grade) were on the road at the Great Falls Duals on Friday Night and the Choteau Duals on Saturday. Our 10 wrestlers in attendance amassed an INCREDIBLE record of 53 WINS and only 10 Losses. We’ve never had such a dominant 2-days since we began traveling to the event over a decade ago. Those individuals then made the trek from Choteau to Butte on Saturday Night.
On Sunday, it was time for the Cyclops at the Butte Civic Center. Outside, of State AAU and the Montana Open, the Cyclops is the premier youth wrestling event held annually in Montana. Our 14 competitors made a statement to the rest of the State, as we came away with the Small Team CHAMPIONSHIP trophy on the backs of 13 top six place winners and FIVE CHAMPIONS!
This coming weekend; the majority of our Club will be at the Glendive Invitational on Saturday, while many of our 5th thru 8th grade kids will attend the Havre Middle School Invitational that same day.

What a weekend it was over in North Dakota for GWC as 45 of our grapplers put on a show. We were the 3rd largest club in attendance and came away with 12 individual CHAMPIONS and 30 Top 3 finishers! Our club has enjoyed an outstanding 1st month. We enter the “off week” as is tradition on High School STATE weekend. We plan to have a great week of practice this week and then jump right back into competition the following weekend.

Our Highlanders were on FIRE this past weekend! We welcomed a RECORD 455 kids to our home tournament and we put on a show in the friendly confines of Scottie Gymnasium. We entered our own record of 80 grapplers into the competition. When the dust had settled, GWC crowned Fifteen individual CHAMPIONS and 57 Top 4 finishers!
After a long day on the mats, the kids were back at it on Sunday morning in Malta at the “Cover the Court” event. The Highlanders proved to be even more dominant in rival territory. We entered a event-best 67 wrestlers on Sunday and came away with an amazing 21 Individual CHAMPIONS and 53 Top 4 finishers! WOW. What a great couple of days for these future Scotties. Another great weekend for the Highlanders!

This weekend we had 19 wrestlers competing at the Baker Invitational and the Wild West Championships in Casper, Wyoming. In Baker, our grapplers managed nine top 3 finishes and three individual championships. At the Prestigious Wild West we had six Top 5 finishers including, Taden Sundeen, who brought home the coveted Championship Belt! Next weekend is a HUGE one for us.

We host the annual Glasgow Wrestling Club Invitational on Saturday at Scottie Gymnasium and we are expecting a BIG turnout. On Sunday we will travel to the Malta Invitational.

What an outstanding opening weekend for our Highlanders down in Miles City at the “Little Cowboy”! We entered a huge contingent of 44 boys and girls on Sunday and walked out of the event with 13 Individual CHAMPIONS and 30 top-3 place winners. Just an outstanding first meet with ONLY THREE practices under our belts. We finished in 4th place as a team out of 18 clubs with 185.5 points. Just 12 points out of first. Pretty awesome considering a large portion of our club is not starting to compete until this coming weekend. This weekend, we will split in two different directions. The majority will head to the Wolf Point Invitational on Saturday and some of our experienced grapplers will test themselves at The Wild West Championships in Casper, Wyoming. Sidney, MT 2/29/2020 – The Glasgow Highlanders took part in the Brodie Gorder Memorial Iron Eagle this past weekend in Sidney. The Iron Eagle has turned into one of the most difficult tournaments in the region over the last few years. With teams from all over Montana and the Dakotas converging on Sidney for a day of Team Dual action and a day of action-packed individual competition. GWC continued their strong season by finishing the Elementary Team Dual Tournament on Friday in 8th Place out of 18 teams. On Saturday, the team put 47 grapplers on the mats and they did NOT disappoint.
