Friends and Teammates Buddy Cole and Colt Knaff

Wow. Statement made. GWC is peaking as we head into the final month of the season! On Saturday, 52 Highlanders headed 70 miles east to the Annual Poplar Invitational. At the end of the day; TWENTY Individual Champions were crowned and FORTY FIVE found their way into a top 3 finish. Our overall individual record was 100 wins and 54 losses with 78 pins (41 pins against).
11 of our older kids attended the Havre Middle School Invitational on the same date and 10 of them found the podium. This experienced group was paced by 3 individual Champions.
Next Weekend, the Glasgow Wrestling Club will wrestle at Middle School State or the Big Spring Brawl in Lewistown while others will compete in the Glendive Invitational.

Highlanders Continue Dominant Season

The Glasgow Highlanders spent time apart this weekend, however, they had one thing in common. Success. The majority of the club attended the Wolf Point/Poplar Invitational in Wolf Point and a smaller contingent attended The “Cyclops” in Butte.
In Wolf Point, GWC had 60 wrestlers in attendance. The Highlanders continued their impressive season in the Northeast AAU Division by crowning 16 Individual Champions and 40 Top 3 place winners!
In Butte, the 15 Highlanders in attendance made a strong statement, as our team walked away with the Small Team Championship! It marks a 2nd consecutive Team Title at the Cyclops for the Glasgow Wrestling Club. The Cyclops is considered one of the premier regular season tournaments in Montana; so anytime you can put team hardware in the trophy case from the event it is certainly a sign of STRENGTH. The Team Championship was made possible in large part to 4 Individual Champions and 12 podium finishers.
Four of our Cyclops participants also took part in the Mining City Middle School Tournament in Butte on Saturday. With three of the four individuals securing a top 4 finish.
Next Saturday, the club heads east to the Poplar Invitational, while many of our 5th-8th Graders will head west to wrestle at the Havre Middle School Tournament on Saturday.

GWC Keeps Rolling in North Dakota and Montana

Dayton Markle has now grabbed the GOLD in five consecutive Tournaments

The Highlanders are now one month into the season and all indications are pointing to another succesfull campaign! This past Saturday, the club traveled to the MonDak Open at “The Well” in Williston, North Dakota. The regional event featured 465 kids from 30 different clubs. GWC had the 3rd largest team in attendance with 44 stepping on the mat. 10 individual CHAMPIONS and Top 3 finishers led the way for the Highlanders.
On Sunday, we were back on the mat at the Border Brawl in Plentywood. 185 wrestlers from 9 different clubs competed in the event. The Highlanders brought in a contingent of 28 grapplers and walked away with 12 individual CHAMPIONS and 26 top 3 finishers.

This weekend we will take our traditional break from competition and give our kids and families a chance to go to Billings and watch the Scottie High School teams at State in the Metra. The following weekend, we will be back on the mats in Wolf Point and Butte.
